Wednesday’s weather: Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers | News24



Partly cloudy and warm conditions with isolated showers are expected on Wednesday.

The South African Weather Service has forecast partly cloudy and warm temperatures with isolated showers over most of the country. 

Impact-based warning

A Yellow Level 2 warning has been issued for severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, severe lightning, large hail, and strong damaging winds over the western parts of KwaZulu-Natal and over the Eastern Cape’s northern and eastern interior. 

Fire danger warning

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over the northern parts of the Northern Cape.

The weather in your region

Partly cloudy and warm temperatures with scattered showers and thundershowers are forecast for Gauteng, but isolated in the south-west of the province. 

The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.

Mpumalanga is expected to be cloudy in places in the morning with fog patches along the escarpment. Otherwise, the province will be partly cloudy with cool to warm conditions.

Isolated showers and thundershowers are forecast from the afternoon, except in the extreme north-east of the province, with scattered showers over the Highveld.

It will be cloudy in parts of Limpopo in the morning, otherwise the province will be mostly partly cloudy with warm temperatures, but hot in the south-west.

Isolated showers and thundershowers can be expected, except in the Lowveld and Limpopo Valley, with scattered showers over the south-central parts of the province. 

The North West will be partly cloudy with warm to hot conditions and isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers.

Morning fog in the extreme east of the Free State is expected. Otherwise, partly cloudy and warm to hot temperatures are forecast for the province.

Isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers are forecast, with scattered showers in the extreme east of the province.

The Northern Cape will be partly cloudy with warm to hot temperatures for most of the province, but very hot conditions in the north.

Isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers are also expected. 

The wind along the coast will be a light to moderate south-westerly.

It’s looking to be cloudy along the south coast of the Western Cape. Otherwise, partly cloudy with cool to warm temperatures are forecast. Hot to very hot temperatures are expected over areas in the province’s interior. 

Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected in the north-east of the province.

The wind along the coast will be light and variable along the west coast, otherwise a moderate to fresh easterly to south-easterly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is very high.

The western half of the Eastern Cape is expected to be cloudy in the south with morning fog patches. Otherwise, partly cloudy and warm conditions are forecast with isolated showers and thundershowers. Light rain is expected along the coast of in the evening.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate easterly to south-easterly.

Cloudy conditions in the south with morning fog patches remain in place for the eastern half of the province, with partly cloudy conditions and warm temperatures.

Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected, with scattered showers over the interior. Light rain is forecast along the coast in the evening.

The wind along the coast will be a moderate to fresh north-easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal can expect morning fog over the interior of the province, otherwise partly cloudy and warm temperatures are forecast.

Scattered showers and thundershowers are expected in the west of the province, otherwise isolated showers in the north-east.

The wind along the coast will be light and variable north of St Lucia at first, otherwise, it will be a moderate to fresh northerly to northeasterly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is low.
