Wednesday’s weather: Brace for extremely hot weather in parts of Northern and Western Cape | News24



Extremely hot conditions are expected in parts of the Northern and Western Cape provinces.

Warm to hot conditions are expected for large parts of the country, with some morning fog and cloud cover in some provinces, according to the South African Weather Service

Fire danger warning:  

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in the Northern Cape and Western Cape, except for the coastal areas and adjacent interior.

Advisory:

Extremely hot and uncomfortable conditions are expected over the Western Cape and Namakwa district of the Northern Cape.

Weather in your province: 

Gauteng will be cloudy at first, with morning fog on the Highveld, otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and cool.

The expected UVB sunburn index is extreme.

Morning fog patches are expected along the escarpment of Mpumalanga, otherwise, it will be cloudy and cool.

Limpopo can expect morning fog patches along the escarpment, cloudy and cool to warm conditions are expected elsewhere in the province. 

Fine and warm to hot conditions are expected in the North West, becoming partly cloudy.

The Free State will be fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy, with isolated showers and thundershowers over the extreme western parts.  

It will be fine and warm to hot, but very hot in the western parts of the Northern Cape. Partly cloudy conditions with isolated showers and thundershowers are expected, except in the west and south-western parts of the province.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly, becoming fresh at times, and moderate north-westerly towards the end of the period.

It will be fine and warm but hot to very hot over the interior of the Western Cape. Extremely hot temperatures are expected over the Karoo and the Breede Valley. 

It will become partly cloudy from the afternoon, with light rain over the northern and extreme south-western parts in the evening, but very isolated showers and thundershowers over the extreme north-eastern parts of the province.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly north of Cape Columbine, otherwise light and variable but east to north-easterly along the south coast. It will become westerly to south-westerly from the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is very high.

Fine and hot to very hot weather is forecast for the western half of the Eastern Cape. It will be warm along the coast.

The wind along the coast will be light north-easterly at first, otherwise fresh to strong north-easterly.

The eastern half of the province can expect fog in places over the interior in the morning, otherwise, it will be fine and warm but hot in the west.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal will be cloudy with morning fog over the interior, otherwise, partly cloudy and cool to warm conditions are expected.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh, easterly to north-easterly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.
