(NewsNation) – Pressure is growing on President Joe Biden, after Killing of three Americans Military personnel in Jordan.

“We need to re-establish deterrence through action,” retired Gen. Philip Breedlove, former commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Europe, said in an interview Monday on NewsNation.In balance.”

Breedlove argued that the current approach, characterized by limited responses and reluctance to resort to violent retaliation, only emboldens Iran.

“Iran currently firmly believes that we will strike back against its proxies. And I think they are hopeful and concerned that perhaps this was the moment that they had stumbled over the edge and would require a retaliation,” Breedlove called for a return to offensive action and the restoration of deterrence through decisive action.

Breedlove emphasized the need to recognize the reality of the Iranian regime and the importance of taking actions consistent with Iran’s priorities.

In an interview on the topic “CUOMO“, former Trump White House official and Abraham Accords Negotiator Adam Boehler expressed skepticism about the practicality of involving Congress in immediate military decisions and emphasized the importance of executive action.

Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Richard Newton proposed a multi-pronged approach that included economic sanctions, diplomatic efforts and a targeted military campaign against proxy forces responsible for the recent attacks.

“At this very moment, U.S. Central Command is providing the president and his national security leadership team with a range of options, ranging from just individual targets to … perhaps even looking at targets in Iran,” Newton said, advocating for five a seven-day airstrike against proxy forces in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

“We had a rough day in the Middle East last night. We lost three brave souls in an attack on one of our bases,” he said. After the moment of silence, Biden added: “We will respond.”
