The Union Buildings in Pretoria were abuzz with excitement and elegance on Wednesday afternoon as local and international politicians, members of royalty, religious leaders, and other dignitaries arrived to witness President Cyril Ramaphosa being sworn in for a second term.

The occasion was a political milestone and a spectacular display of fashion, with attendees putting their best foot forward on the red carpet.

A parade of style and elegance

Among the notable figures was Nomvula Mokonyane, also known as “Mama Action”.

Mokonyane lit up the event in a bright yellow two-piece ensemble that made her stand out in the crowd.

Her bold choice of colour and confident demeanour exemplified her nickname, capturing the attention of onlookers and photographers alike.

Adding to the glamour was King Mswati III’s wife, who turned heads in a regal, diamond-encrusted pink caped dress. Her dramatic yet classy hat perfectly complemented her outfit, adding a touch of aristocratic flair.

Standing by her side, King Mswati III opted for a more subdued navy blue suit, allowing his wife’s fashion-forward ensemble to shine.

King Letsie III’s wife also dazzled the crowd in a royal blue dress that exuded simplicity and class. Her flowy attire was beautifully matched with a blue straw-like hat, creating a harmonious and elegant look that drew admiration from attendees.

King Misuzulu KaZwelithini’s wife chose a modest yet chic emerald green mermaid-like dress adorned with sequin flowers and a dramatic frill on the right shoulder.

Her ensemble was beautifully accessorised with a fur scarf and a sequin emerald green headwrap, presenting a picture of understated elegance and sophistication.
