On Wednesday, former President of Burkina Faso, Blaise Compaoré, was sentenced to life imprisonment by a military tribunal for the murder of Thomas Sankara, his predecessor.
Sankara was assassinated in a coup led by Compaoré on October 15, 1987. Compaoré who was sentenced in absentia alongside his former head of security, Hyacinthe Kafando.
