QATAR 2022: Amaju Pinnick should resign – Joi John

Sacking the technical crew for the Super Eagles is not enough. A resignation should follow suit.

In Algeria, the president of the Football Federation, Charaf-Eddine Amara, resigned from his position during the emergency meeting of the federal office on Thursday, March 31st. In a clean sweep, the federal office also stepped down. It is not far fetched to expect same from Amaju Pinnick and his co-travelers on the NFF board. Apart from the failure of the Super Eagles to qualify for a spot in Qatar at the World Cup, the embarrassing aftermath that led to FIFA banning the National Stadium indefinitely from hosting international competitions is enough for any right thinking leadership to throw in the towel.

With that said, I would like to urge Amaju Pinnick and his entire board to toe the path of honour and resign. It is the honourable thing to do.
