India will travel to South Africa for a four-match T20 International series in November, Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed on Friday.

Almost a fortnight after the final T20I against India at the Wanderers, the Proteas will readjust to the five-day format as they take on Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series.

The Proteas then host an all-format tour against Pakistan over the festive season.

“India and South Africa have always shared a deep and strong bond, one that both nations take great pride in,” said honorary secretary of the BCCI, Jay Shah.

“The Indian cricket team has consistently received immense appreciation and love from South African fans, and this sentiment is equally strong among Indian fans towards the South African side.

“I am confident that the upcoming series will once again highlight the on-field cricketing excellence and deliver enthralling, high-intensity contests.”

The Proteas will take on Sri Lanka in the first Test at Kingsmead in Durban from 27 November – 1 December, before St George’s Park in Gqeberha hosts the second Test from 5-9 December.

Pakistan will then tour South Africa in December for an all-format tour that includes the traditional Boxing Day Test at Centurion and the New Year’s Test at Newlands in Cape Town.
