Jeep has always been synonymous with a lifestyle of freedom, adventure and the ability to veer off the beaten path. Hosted in collaboration with the official Jeep Club South Africa, this ethos takes to the open road this Easter Weekend 2026 in the first-ever Easter Jeep Safari in South Africa, and all Jeep owners are invited. The four-day programme takes place at the Gariep Forever Resort and promises to lean into everything that makes the Jeep brand so iconic for thrill-seekers and those in pursuit of leisure alike.
Adventure awaits
The Gariep Dam is the largest in South Africa, spanning three provinces: the Free State, Northern Cape, and Eastern Cape, and sets the scene for a weekend to remember.
The Easter Jeep Safari will take advantage of the amenities and breathtaking scenery the resort has to offer. The itinerary includes guided trail drives through challenging terrain with plenty of photo opportunities, while community competitions, Jeepbuild showcases, and relaxed social gatherings create plenty of opportunities for owners to connect. The evenings will unfold into the more social side of the Jeep lifestyle, where campfires flicker, the scent of braais drifts on the breeze, and conversation flows late into the night.

Where Jeep owners become family
The Easter Jeep Safari originated in Moab, Utah and dates back to 1967. It began as a modest outing organised by the Moab Chamber of Commerce to attract visitors to the region. What started as a single-day trail ride through the dramatic red-rock terrain quickly grew into a week-long event, becoming one of the most iconic gatherings in the global off-road and Jeep community. Now, this annual event has become one of the most recognised gatherings in the international Jeep calendar, attracting over 15,000 Jeep purists and enthusiasts to the region.
Jeep promises to bring the same spirit of adventure and community in the first-ever South African edition of the Easter Safari, against one of the many scenic escapes the country has to offer.
“This event is about bringing the Jeep community together in a way South Africa has never seen before. The Easter Jeep Safari isn’t only about driving trails, but also the friendships, stories and shared passion that make the Jeep community so special.” – Anne-Marie Engelbrecht, President of Jeep Club South Africa

Strengthening the local Jeep community
Jeep Club SA is recognised not only for its adventure and performance, but also for its community engagement and outreach. Members from KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Western Cape are connected by a sense of community built on shared interests and a deep sense of fraternity.
“Jeep South Africa is fortunate to have such a strong and engaged customer base through its club community,” says Janus Janse van Rensburg, Head of Marketing and Sales for Jeep South Africa at Stellantis. He added, “The stalwarts behind the club organise monthly events and excursions, and now they’re taking things up a notch with the first Easter Jeep Safari in South Africa. It’s incredibly exciting for Jeep South Africa to partner on something like this and spend time with the passionate people who make this Jeep brand what it is.”
In another milestone for local owners, Jeep Club SA has announced that it will cover Jeep Club South Africa membership fees for all customers purchasing a new Jeep from an authorised dealer in 2026. For more information about the Jeep Easter Safari, visit the official Jeep website.

A brand built by Community
Initiatives such as the Easter Jeep Safari and Jeep Club SA are a reflection of an organic sense of community amongst Jeep owners, and not a brand-backed initiative with the sole purpose of marketing. The Jeep brand has transcended mere ownership and evolved into a sense of family, where trail drives evolve into enduring friendships, spontaneous road trips mature into annual rituals, and the promise of the next great escape is inked into diaries well before leave is ever approved.
