New York Gov. Cuomo apologizes but will not resign for sexual misconduct.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has apologized for his past behavior following allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior by three women. On Wednesday, he told reporters that he was “embarrassed” by his actions and will cooperate with the New York attorney general’s investigation of his conduct.

  • Cuomo said he was “sorry for whatever pained I caused” three women who have accused him of sexually harassing them.
  • Cuomo also said he will not resign, and asked the public to reserve judgment as New York Attorney General Letitia James oversees an investigation of the allegations by the women, two of whom were his aides.
  • “I now understand that I acted in a way that made people feel uncomfortable,” Cuomo said, referring to Lindsey Boylan, Charlotte Bennett and Anna Ruch. “It was unintentional. And I truly and deeply apologize for it.”
