Four Palestinians were killed in Jenin and 22 in the southern Gaza Strip, while in the north a raid took place at Kamal Adwan Hospital.

Israeli forces have carried out deadly attacks in the occupied West Bank, while shelling and bombing many areas in the Gaza Strip, ahead of a meeting of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to discuss an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire.”

At least four Palestinians were killed on Tuesday in the worst raid in the occupied West Bank city Jeninwhere the Israeli army fired a rocket at teenagers, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported.

Meanwhile, according to Palestinian medical sources, 20 people – including seven children and at least five women – were killed in Israeli strikes on Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip on the border with Egypt, while two people were killed by Israeli artillery fire in Khan Younis.

Al Jazeera’s Nida Ibrahim, reporting from Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, said raids continued in Jenin as some residents set up roadblocks to deter Israeli forces.

“The Palestinians say that these raids continue without any real deterrence and that Israeli forces have been given an open hand,” Ibrahim said.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said the Israeli military blocked ambulances from the Jenin refugee camp, the target of the raid, to treat the wounded.

Israeli forces also carried out raids in other West Bank cities, arresting about 50 people in Ramallah, Bethlehem, Nablus and Tubas, Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.

Israeli incursions into the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem have also increased since the outbreak of war. Since October 7, Israeli forces or settlers have killed 270 Palestinians, bringing the total number killed this year to 487.

“The search continues”

As Rafah and Khan Younis suffered from the nighttime airstrikes, concern grew for people who feared being trapped under the rubble.

Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud reported from Rafah on Tuesday morning and said the search for survivors was continuing but was “very simple and straightforward.”

“There are no machines or devices to help people,” he added.

Israel has been bombing Gaza for more than two months about killed 18,200 Palestinians, including 7,729 children, and 90 percent of the population displaced. Humanitarian aid officials are warning of a collapsing health system and “apocalyptic” conditions in the small pocket of southern Gaza where most Palestinians are now crowded together.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces raided the Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza, a health ministry spokesman said, after besieging and shelling it for several days.

In a post on Telegram, Ashraf al-Qudra added that Israeli forces were gathering men – including medical staff – in the courtyard of the hospital, who he feared could then be arrested.

“We call on the United Nations, the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross to act immediately to save the lives of those in hospital,” he said.

The new attacks and rising death toll come ahead of a vote in the UN General Assembly later on Tuesday on an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire”.

The last time the assembly met on the issue was on October 27, when 120 countries voted in favor of a Jordanian resolution calling for an “immediate, permanent and durable humanitarian ceasefire leading to a cessation of hostilities.”

Egypt and Mauritania invoked Resolution 377A (V) to call an emergency meeting stating that if the UN Security Council If the UN General Assembly is unable to fulfill its primary responsibility for maintaining peace, it can intervene.
