Changing the narrative: DJ Shimza’s mission to tell Africa’s
story

By Constance Gaanakgomo

When Shimza started his career, he had to trust the process;
he went through every step that prepared him to become the global star he is
today. With all that he has achieved, the one thing he wants to do is use his
influence to create more opportunities for other people. Not only is he focused
on growing his global footprint, but he wants to “bring the
collective”, from music, fashion, and art to everything authentically
African (which) he gives his stamp of approval to the global stage.

cheap getaway, but it’s an attainable goal from South Africa.

new faces. Comic book giants got knocked down a peg or two with lacklustre
critical and box office receptions – barring some exceptions – and 2023 also
marked the biggest organic film event in the post-pandemic era in Barbenheimer.
Here’s our comprehensive roundup of the must-see films for the year.
