Ebraheem Al Samadi is a polarising character on the show, but when we meet on a rainy day at Cape Town’s City Hall, the rather humble and respectful Ebraheem we often see caring for his mom on the show insists I don’t stand as I’m an expecting mom. Instead, he shakes my hand, laughing, as he tells me about his drive into town and a few interesting characters he’s met on the streets.

Strolling through the bountiful, award-winning gardens of Brahman Hills

I have always been a naturally curious person. For that reason, I enjoy YouTube videos explaining everyday topics. 

I remember stumbling upon a video that explained how keeping a manicured lawn and garden was once the preserve of royal families and the nobility that served them under a feudal system. Over time, the practice of keeping lawns on one’s property became a status symbol and, though lawns are more common today, the idea of a beautiful garden still carries an air of luxury.

I recalled the video while touring the award-winning gardens at Brahman Hills during a News24 visit to their Brahman Hills Experience weekend.
