Classic and timeless: Style star Siya Bani reveals the secrets behind her opulent fashion flair

By Phumi Ramalepe

On a cold and wet Sunday night in Sandton, the atmosphere was charged with the glamour of a night polo event hosted by Johnny Walker Blue Label.

Despite the piercing cold, one figure stood out in breathtaking, irresistible elegance—Siyanda Bani aka Siya Bunny on her popular social media platforms.

The South African award-winning fashion, lifestyle, and travel influencer sashayed across the room in a Dior-inspired, pure white, long-sleeved silk dress, accessorised with a matching hat and kitten heels.

‘Habibi, come to South Africa!’: Dubai Bling’s Ebraheem confirms Forever Rose coming to SA

By Bashiera Parker

“My name is Ebraheem, and this is my tongue. Beware!” The Blooming Man says in Netflix’s Dubai Bling, an iconic line that cements his place as ‘the son of a king, and the son of a queen’.

Ebraheem Al Samadi is a polarising character on the show, but when we meet on a rainy day at Cape Town’s City Hall, the rather humble and respectful Ebraheem we often see caring for his mom on the show insists I don’t stand as I’m an expecting mom. Instead, he shakes my hand, laughing, as he tells me about his drive into town and a few interesting characters he’s met on the streets.

REVIEW | Is Ford SA’s entry-level Puma passenger car any good?

By Wilhelm Lutjeharms

Currently, in South Africa, if you mention Ford, the first models that come to mind are likely the Ranger or the Ranger Raptor.

These are models that Ford is known for and that sell very well.Secondly, you might think of the Mustang, a sports GT that is also doing rather well considering the market segment.

FEATURE | How Bonnievale became a fine wine destination: Weltevrede Wine Estate

By Daléne Fourie

Bonnievale is two hours from anywhere in the Western Cape. You could say Bonnievale IS the centre of the Western Cape.

In the gardens of the newly redone tasting room (2021) at Weltevrede Wine Estate, there’s a pond with tiny canals leading out into each cardinal direction. If you follow the one to the West, you’ll end up in Kloof Nek Cape Town, and the one to the South, Agulhas, East, and you’ll end up in Margaret River, Australia, but I digress.

News24’s Book of the Month for June 2024 is Liberation Diaries, edited by Busani Ngcaweni. It is the follow-up, 10 years later, to the volume of the same name that was published on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the advent of democracy in South Africa. In the book, 26 writers consider what freedom and democracy mean to them at this time.

In this excerpt, Nozipho Mbanjwa-Tshabalala reflects on the national conversation as it stands at the 30-year mark.

Strolling through the bountiful, award-winning gardens of Brahman Hills

By Kaunda Selisho

I have always been a naturally curious person. For that reason, I enjoy YouTube videos explaining everyday topics.

I remember stumbling upon a video that explained how keeping a manicured lawn and garden was once the preserve of royal families and the nobility that served them under a feudal system. Over time, the practice of keeping lawns on one’s property became a status symbol and, though lawns are more common today, the idea of a beautiful garden still carries an air of luxury.

I recalled the video while touring the award-winning gardens at Brahman Hills during a News24 visit to their Brahman Hills Experience weekend.

Should a ‘work wife’ get you worked up? Expert weighs in on this woman’s viral dilemma: Because people spend so much time at work, relationships of all kinds with their colleagues are inevitable. For some, things are taken a step further when they form a close bond with a member of the opposite sex (and sometimes even the same sex) – this person then becomes their “work wife” or “husband”.

What’s for dinner? Herman Lensing’s steak with creamy mustard sauce: Chef Pete Goffe-Wood taught me the recipe for this sauce when I was still a student at the Institute of Culinary Arts in Stellenbosch. It’s the best sauce for steak I still make.
