Franschhoek's Eleven Restaurant is taking its already impressive gastronomic experience at new heights with the introduction of an exciting menu to the letter, in addition to the tasting menu of its famous chef. As a result, diners have a greater freedom to create their own culinary trip, ensuring a personalized and unforgettable visit to one of the main gastronomic destinations in the region.

Located on Huguenot Street, Once offers global contemporary kitchen within an elegant and relaxed atmosphere. Since its opening in 2023, the restaurant has become a beloved accessory in Winelands, known for its exceptional kitchen and commitment to constant evolution.

“A great menu should never be static,” explains Ryan Shell by Eleven. “It evolves with the stations, ingredients and palates of our guests. When refining and reinventing the dishes, we maintain our high standards while we offer diners the opportunity to explore new flavors and experiences. “

A hyper seasonal approach, focused on sustainable ingredients, remains in the heart of eleven philosophy, which connects all aspects of gastronomic experience.

A trip begins with a snack

Inspired by its main location, Eleven has introduced a tempting snack menu. The corner place of the restaurant, complete with balconies and expansive windows, offers the perfect scenario for relaxed dinner and observe people. These light snacks, small and exquisite plates designed to be savored with a glass of wine, make a lovely addition.

The snack menu has delicacies such as fresh oysters with apple, Nuac Cham foam, coriander and swollen rice; Fish croquettes with Curry mayonnaise; Kimchi Tartlets with sweet and sour gel; and delicate duck liver tacos with the most delicate stone fruit gel.

Entrants can be enjoyed as part of the refrigerated selection or as a prelude to a larger meal. Explore global flavors with dishes such as mozzarella with basil, confit tomato, balsamic and pumpkin seeds; Ceviche salmon with gazpacho, jalapeño, radish and summer herbs; o Tartar aged with mayonnaise from Chile, capers, a rice and peanut cookie.

The main courses offer the same diversity and intrigue, with dishes such as pork agnolotti with lemon cream, pancetta, sage and beurre noisette; and safe yellow tail of pan with tarragon, caponata and a micro salad.

A selection of sides, which includes an adequate risotto, pomme puree butter or cauliflower cheese, allows greater customization.

Desserts are the highlight, which shows the dedication of the team to precision and attention. Keep your food with a chocolate malt cream with coffee, sponge, meringue and vanilla ice cream, or cheese trio.

The tasting menu: the essence of eleven

“Once has always tried to show our skills and experience,” says Ryan. “In that sense, the tasting menu is the soul of the restaurant's kitchen.”

Many of the dishes of the letter to the letter also appear in the tasting menu, which, with their optional wines pairing, offers a cured experience that shows the creations of pinnacle of the kitchen. It is the perfect opportunity for guests to relax and complete.

The wine list predominantly presents selections from the main producers of Franschhoek, chosen with the same care, diversity and approach as food.
