“Once upon a time…”

All over the world, in all cultures and at all stages of life, fairy tales are part of our collective imagination. These fabulous stories, often based on popular folklore, invite us to daydream and open wide the doors of our imagination. Enchanted forests, distant kingdoms, talking animals, fantastic creatures with magical powers: these are the kind of childhood reminiscences that have inspired Chopard co-president and artistic director Caroline Scheufele to create a brilliant and very personal interpretation. In the fantastic world of Chopard’s ‘Contes de Fées’, amazement rubs shoulders with the majesty of enchanted nature. A world made up of 77 unique creations, enhanced by the talent of passionate artisans.

Charming treasures for the ‘Contes de Fées’ red carpet collection

Over the years, Chopard has paid tribute to the animal and plant kingdoms. Demonstrating a remarkable talent for highlighting life in all its manifestations. He embodies a subtle mix of realism and fantasy. The creations of the Red Carpet Collection 2024 bear witness to this exceptional know-how.

Witness a sculptural necklace inspired by a majestic oak tree that symbolizes strength and power, as well as housing a multitude of small animals, insects and birds – a tale in itself. Offering a spectacular technical interpretation of a design made entirely by hand, this intertwining of ethical rose gold and titanium required six months of work and the intervention of four jewelers and setters. The result mixes titanium blades set with tsavorites; dazzling flowers with clusters of extravagant briolette-cut yellow sapphires; along with sculpted and then dyed titanium acorns.

At her foot grows a charming mushroom-shaped ring in ethical rose gold. Its delicate, finely fluted cap is entirely set with white, orange, cognac and brown diamonds, skillfully arranged in a gradient of cuts and colors.

At her side is a titanium sprig of lily of the valley, with its charming bell-shaped flowers set with diamonds and tiny pistils of ethical yellow gold, designed to be worn as a brooch. Several years ago, driven by the desire to unleash his creativity while at the same time going beyond technical limitations, Chopard opted for titanium. Rarely used in traditional jewelry, this metal exhibits two extremely useful characteristics. Its extreme lightness allows us to design pieces that, due to their size and weight, would be impossible to make in gold. Additionally, its ability to be dyed a multitude of colors through anodization means that it can remain alone or disappear under the finest setting, taking on the color of the stones it surrounds, like a chameleon.

Wimsy Red Carpet

In an ode to plant life, a long multicolor sautoir necklace appears adorned with a very creative pendant. A flower of rubellites, tsavorites and colored diamonds blooms in the heart of a pristine rock crystal. Surrounding the crystal are nine individually handcrafted titanium flowers. A particularly exquisite detail is the random micro-adjustment of the pistils, which reinforces the unique and spectacular feel of each flower. This miniature painting is finished with small pearls that evoke the morning dew that delicately adorns the tsavorite leaves.

Meanwhile, the earrings spin gracefully in the air, held by two butterflies in ethical white gold set with two pear-shaped aquamarines. Symbolizing a light and carefree spirit, butterflies are foragers who sow seeds of life and pollinate flowers. They are part of the enchanting world of fairy tales, in which small animals often become heroes of great adventures.

A tiny creature emblematic of ‘Contes de Fées’ has been entrusted with a great responsibility! On the shank of an ethical yellow gold ring, two charming titanium frogs set with pear-shaped emeralds hold a crown set with rubellites and white and yellow diamonds. At the center of this coveted royal attribute is a magnificent 17.7-carat round-cut rubellite.

Finally, it is inseparable from the world of the ‘Contes de Fées’, who are believed to have supernatural powers and the ability to influence the world of the living. She stands at the center of an airy, immaculate tiara, surrounded by a shower of stars and diamond drops. “She” is a celestial and dazzling fairy who spreads her elegant mother-of-pearl wings. With a wave of her magic wand, she transforms into a brooch, within reach of a secret that could be whispered in his ear.

The rise of Chopard Haute Joaillerie

In 2010, the extraordinary Animal World Collection confirmed Chopard’s position in the fine jewelry firmament. This impressive animal bestiary not only revealed the exceptional creativity and experience of the Maison’s artisans, but also revolutionized the codes of fine jewelry itself. Caroline Scheufele broke with the usual stylistic language not only highlighting the animals considered most noble, but also choosing to pay tribute to the animal world in all its immensity. Rats, flies, pigs, sardines and spiders received the same attention as polar bears, butterflies, peacocks and parrots. Through successive fine jewelry In her collections, Caroline Scheufele has never stopped bending conventions, pushing the boundaries of boldness and feasibility, as vividly reflected in this Red Carpet collection.
