(NewsNation) – Former President Bill Clinton was seen strolling through a small town in Mexico as new names were mentioned about Jeffrey Epstein in court documents are made public.

Clinton was seen with other tourists in the main square of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.

Mayor Mauricio Trejo Pureco shared a photo of Clinton in front of the parish of San Miguel Arcángel on social media.

In a tweet, Mayor Trejo Pureco welcomed Clinton, saying, “Even Bill Clinton walks calmly and confidently through the streets of San Miguel de Allende, enjoying the unique beauty and kindness of the people of San Miguel de Allende.” Welcome, Mr. President! “

A federal court on Wednesday began releasing previously secret documents related to Epstein, revealing the names of more than 150 people linked to the disgraced financier, who killed himself in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges .

The documents will be unsealed on a rolling basis, with two of them being withheld until at least January 22nd. The records may include the names of those who worked for Epstein or had tenuous ties to the financier, as well as potential victims and witnesses. Appearance in the documents does not mean that anyone is implicated in any wrongdoing.

The documents come from a settled civil lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre, who claims to be a victim of sex trafficking British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015.

There have been numerous posts on social media in recent weeks speculating that the documents contained a list of rich and powerful men who were Epstein’s “clients” or “co-conspirators.”

Reports leading up to the release focused on Former President Bill Clinton’s name appears about 50 times throughout the pages of the document.

Clinton’s name came up as Giuffre was questioned by Maxwell’s lawyers about inaccuracies in newspaper articles about her time with Epstein, including a report that quoted her as saying she flew in a helicopter with Clinton and flirted with Donald Trump. Giuffre said none of these things actually happened.

These include the transcripts of the testimony of Johanna Sjoberg, who says she was hired by Maxwell and sexually abused by Epstein. Sjoberg testified that Epstein told her that “as far as girls go, Clinton likes her young.”

ABC wrote that Giuffre did not accuse Clinton of wrongdoing and that sealed documents do not indicate any unlawful behavior by the former president. However, Giuffre claimed she met Clinton on Epstein’s private Caribbean island, even though his representatives said he had never been there. Personal flight logs show Clinton and others flew on Epstein’s plane to Paris, Bangkok and Brunei in 2002 and 2003, ABC said, but there are no records of him flying to Epstein’s island.

Clinton officials previously said he had “cut off contact” with Epstein in 2005, the ABC article said, and repeatedly said he knew nothing about the disgraced financier’s crimes.
