I got up this morning, swept the house, washed the dishes and finally sat down with a cup of coffee and banana. Before all that, though, I stood quietly by the window and let the morning sun touch my face for a moment, and it felt so good in that old, grounded way. Now I'm back in bed, warm and cozy, writing this under the covers and honestly, it feels like a little luxury.
The photos you are seeing are not from this year. They were taken last year in Dean Castle Country Park on November 9, 2025, on our way to meet a friend and spend some time with her little one. If you've ever been there, you can easily imagine it. Wide open roads, bare trees, soft cold air and that sense of calm that comes just before winter really arrives. It was one of those days when you want to be warm and comfortable, but still look good without trying too hard.
Let's talk about winter style, because for me it always starts with warmth. I never compromise on being warm, no matter how nice an outfit looks. Jeans and black boots are my winter staples and are pieces I rely on every year. A good pair of jeans paired with solid black boots can carry you all season long if you pair them right. Underneath this outfit, I wore a simple black long-sleeved blouse, and that single layer makes all the difference. It retains heat and allows me to enjoy being outdoors without constantly thinking about the cold.
This pink sweater with three buttons on the front is from Primark and yes, it is already starting to pill and fall off. Here we call it a jumper, and I already knew what would happen because it's Primark. I really don't care. I love color and sometimes that's enough. It looks pretty, feels soft, and adds brightness to winter, which matters more than people admit. I may not be able to use it after this winter and that's okay. Clothes don't always have to last forever to be worth enjoying. I've paired this sweater with different jeans before, and each time it gives me a slightly different vibe while keeping me warm.
Dressing in winter doesn't just mean dull colors. Bright colors are important during the colder months, and pink, especially, has a way of lifting your spirits when the days turn gray. Pink softens winter outfits and provides warmth without being loud. I think it makes everything feel softer and happier, even when the weather isn't great.
Now let's get to the jeans, because denim always deserves its own moment. I first styled these jeans in this blog post, and if you remember that denim-on-denim look, you already know how versatile they are. The jeans are from Know Fashion Style, part of the blue loose, casual, button down, round neck, sleeveless waist and wide leg pants. Two-piece denim set. It's also available in black, which is good to know if you prefer darker tones. The material is cotton denim, the fit is regular with a high waist, wide leg profile and a clean solid color finish. Details like pockets and buttons give it structure while keeping it casual. I wear a size that allows for movement, warmth and comfort, which is important in winter. Wide leg jeans are especially great during the colder months because they fit well and never feel restrictive.
The boots are one of my favorite parts of this outfit. My partner bought them for me just before the peak of the cold months and I have received many compliments since. People really like them, especially the way I style them. They are black Replay boots with laces and a slight wedge, and they are very warm. Sometimes they are so hot that I have to take them off. They feel solid, supportive and well-made, which is why investing in good winter shoes is always a smart decision. Winter is not the time to struggle with thin soles or uncomfortable shoes. A good boot will get you through cold days, long hikes, and busy weeks stress-free.
As for makeup, I've learned to keep things simple. Powder is fine for me, and adding blush gives it a softer, more subtle look that pairs well with winter outfits. It keeps the face fresh without looking heavy and matches the relaxed and practical approach I take with my clothing.
How's everyone doing lately? What colors of sweaters or sweaters do you love this winter? Do you lean toward bright tones like pink or do you prefer neutrals when it's cold? Let me know, because I always enjoy hearing how others style their winter days.
