An escape from a story book at VIECH LOCH

You know how, when you constantly try to synchronize your schedules to go out with a friend, is there always something that arises? It's you free and they are not, or vice versa. My old friend in Ukraine, knowing how much I love nature, had been making great efforts so that we came out and relaxed in nature together, but our schedules never coincided. When the opportunity finally appeared to meet him, I decided to do it. And honestly, it was the best decision.

The moment I got to Only Loven Angling ClubHe felt as if he had entered directly into a storybook. The air was so fresh and the whole place had this quiet and quiet buzz. He wore a light jacket because the weather was perfect, not too cold, not too warm. I looked up and saw these big and spongy clouds that moved slowly through the sky, and threw these incredible reflexes on the water. It was as if the lake was a perfect mirror, showing heaven and trees at the same time.

We walk and soak everything. I loved seeing the lake; It's so beautiful. This little house is right next to the water, and three small boats gently swing on the surface. Everything made me feel so quiet and happy. We could not explore the path of hiking that turned around, but we found great fallen trees and we sat there, speaking for hours. It was so simple, but so good. We saw the ducks rowing and pointed out this small island of plants in the middle of the lake. He felt a delight to sit and talk about everything and nothing. He really made me appreciate just being in nature with a good friend.

And you know me, I am so demanding with street food that I never. I am too careful, which I know is a bit silly, but that is only me. But my friend was very excited to visit Saturday's market in the town square. It was full of producers and small -scale craft stalls. I even tried street food. It wasn't the best, but well, I left my comfort zone, so I'm calling it a victory. It was a good look at community life there.

Speaking of the community, Kilmacolm has this really lovely and calm feeling. It is a small town with a little history. I read that a small group of residents and businessmen had a vision in 1909 to create a picturesque lake for trout fishing. They proposed the idea to the local landowners, and in February 1910, they began to build a dam to create what we now know as the lake. I was ready to be supplied with trout just a few months later, and fishing officially began on May 6, 1911. How great is that?

Knapps Angling Club is a private lake for members, which explains why I didn't see many people around. For more than a hundred years, this place has provided one of the best places for fishing for brown trout in western Scotland, all in this quiet and beautiful environment. They have excellent facilities with a club house and modern boats, and welcome experienced and new fishermen. To join, you must request membership and found an online PDF form for the application. It is quite surprising how the members have continued the legacy of the club's founders through two world wars and many other changes. This place is not just for fishermen either; It is a beautiful place for walkers, wildlife and photographers too.

The area is known for being a little more on the rich side, with some quite large houses, and I heard that some billionaires even have homes there. It is fun because despite all that, the atmosphere felt entrenched. I did not see too many people around, which was great, and there is free parking, which is always an advantage. You will know that you are in the right place because there are cows grazing in a fair field to the other side of the road.

Which actually leads me to something that was a bit disappointing. When we try to approach the water, the grass was covered with cow feces. It's not great, and you had to see your passage. I am not a scientist or anything, but I think it could be a problem. When dogs are walking there, they can enter and take the bacteria to the lake when they play in the water. That cannot be good for fish or the environment. It seems that it could cause problems for the long -term lake ecosystem.

But apart from that only thing, all day was perfect. After a while, my friend left me back. It was a very lovely moment, and I am very happy that we would finally have come true. It was a day that really felt like a breath of fresh air.
