Recently I shared a publication about our visit to Seamill Beach. That same day, we also visit Kelburn Castle & Estate and other places in Largs.
Largs was recommended by my Ukrainian friend: he told us that his friend, who had visited, said it is a beautiful city. Then, on Easter Saturday, we headed to Largs for a lovely road trip, which turned out to be funny fun.
Largs is a coastal city on the coast of Clyde, about 40 minutes from Glasgow. His former Gaelic name means “the slopes.” It is a popular place with a dock and is proud of its history Viking, held with a festival every September. The city is also historically significant as the site of the battle of Largs in 1263, where the Scots faced the Norwegians.
If you ever plan to visit Larg, there are 8 fun things and places to visit in Larg.
1. Kelburn Castle and Estate
A popular attraction for children is the secret forest: a labyrinth with the theme of fairy tales with a witch cabin and a giant castle. There are also the game areas of Adventure Course and Saloon, equipped with wooden catwalks, steps, tunnels, swings and a fighting network.
The impressive Kelburn Glen forest has a network of winding paths to explore, with several creative surprises along the way. Upon reaching the top of Glen, a reward for visitors with impressive views through Clyde Firth to the Island of Arran.
In 2007, Kelburn Castle was painted in a unique style and is now recognized by the author and designer Tristan Manco as one of the 10 main examples in the world of street art, comparable to Banksy's work in Los Angeles and the Favela Morro da Providência in Rio de Janeiro.
Heritage organizes events throughout the year, so it is worth reviewing its website or social networks to obtain updates. The accommodation is available in the form of slope yurts for glamping, and there are also areas for launch tents if you prefer to bring yours.
The entrance to the land, Glen and the living and adventure play areas are free, with a car parking position. There is an entry rate of £ 3 per separated person for the secret forest. Kelburn Estate and Country Center is located in the A78, about two miles from Largs, between Largs and Fairlie, and there is a bus stop just outside the entrance. A general entry rate is applied to the heritage, with reduced rates in the low season. The farm also has several paths to walk from different lengths and difficulties. The services of rangers, including guided walks, are available. You can find more details on your website on www.kelburnestate.com. West Kilbride Golf Links limits the northern end of the beach in the vicinity.
The castle was not open when we visited, but they told us that it would be open in June and July. We still enjoy taking photos on the outside, even though we couldn't enter.
2. Waterfall and rock pool in Kelburn Castle and Estate
The waterfall pool, located inside a striking sandstone, is only 250 yards from the castle painted brilliantly. The waterfall felt almost unreal, I really let a lovely cry near him because he was very excited. It was such a beautiful view of seeing in person. From then on, we wandered along the farm to the castle area, we walked through the Flores section and then we had a little Easter bread before addressing Largs Yacht Haven.

3. Candelera de Forest de Sue and Pete Hill Kelburn Castle and Estate
4. Largs Yacht Haven
Yacht yacht It is surrounded by water and enjoys a privileged location on the coast of Clyde. It offers ideal protected conditions for both the cruise and the races, and is conveniently located about 40 minutes from Glasgow.
The sports port has an impressive 700 Literas and offers complete support services for all navigation needs. This includes a 70 -ton polypest and 24/7 access to diesel, gasoline and gas.
On land, there is a unique marine town with a variety of food and drink options, public catwalks along the promenade and a lot of parking. The sports port regularly houses navigation championships throughout the year and serves as the National Event Center for the Sailing of Scotland. It is also a great place to learn to navigate or dive, which makes it one of the best sports ports in Scotland.

5. Lombs Pencil Monument
Just before exploring the Yates Largs refuge, you can see the pencil monument through the sea. Built in 1912, the “pencil” was nicknamed due to its shape and stands out as a reminder of the presence of the Vikings in the area. It is difficult to get lost, high 70 feet high and overlooked to Clyde.
Commemorates the battle of Largs in 1263, when the Scots faced the fleet of the Norwegian King Håkon of about 160 ships. The Norwegians were trapped in a storm, and the Scots took the opportunity to take them back. It was a turning point in the history of Scotland, marking the decline of Viking influence along the coast.
While walking through the promenade towards Bowen Craig, it is impossible to get lost, it stands out prominently. The views from there on the Clyde and the sports port are also quite impressive.
Largs still leans in his past Viking, with places like Vikingo! Exhibition and the Annual Vikings Festival. They even undertook fireworks in the pencil during the celebrations. From the entrance of Yatht Haven, the Pencil monument It is visible.

Nardini has existed since 1935, and apparently it is like the most famous place to eat in Scotland, all those who come to Largs go there. It is a kind of need. They have 32 flavors of different ice cream, Italian cakes and fish and fried potatoes.

8. Largs City CenterFinally, we went to the city center. At this point, we already felt quite cold, so we just take a quick look. We take some photos of the ice cream shop and the area around the city center, and also collected some stones such as small memories.
We also take photos of St. Columba's Kirk in Largs. The ancient parish church is a surprising red stone building that is proudly located on the promenade in this small lovely city. It is the main building of the Church, with the Stewart Memorial Hall attached. Built in 1892, it definitely stands out, you really can't miss it. Unfortunately, it is now permanently closed.
